Going where you need to go

A lift, a ride-along on public transport, or just a steady hand getting in and out — Inaro workers make the trip easy, whatever the trip.

Getting where you need to go, with a worker who knows your routine

What transport support can look like

Pick the option that fits the trip — workers can drive you, ride with you, or meet you there.

  • Driving you to appointments, work or study
  • Riding along on public transport (bus, train, tram)
  • Help getting in and out of the car or taxi
  • Door-to-door logistics for unfamiliar places
  • Regular trips you can count on (e.g. weekly classes)
  • One-off outings and travel
  • Help with parking, navigation and venues
  • Getting home safely at the end of the day

Who transport support is for

Anyone who'd benefit from a familiar face on the trip — or who needs help getting from point A to point B safely.

People who do not drive

A worker who drives you to appointments, work, study or social plans — so you can get on with the day rather than the logistics.

People learning to travel

Build confidence using public transport with a familiar person beside you, until you feel comfortable on your own.

Families and carers

Trusted workers to take a loved one to appointments and outings — handover details, run sheets and any equipment in tow.

How transport is funded under the NDIS

Two things to know

NDIS funding usually covers the support worker's time. Vehicle and travel costs (e.g. petrol, mileage) are funded differently depending on your plan.

If a worker drives you in their own car, there's typically a per-kilometre rate (or similar arrangement) for vehicle costs. We'll be clear with you about how this works at the time of booking.

Your plan manager or support coordinator can confirm what your NDIS plan covers for transport, including the Transport budget under Core supports.

Common questions about transport

Do workers use their own car?

Many workers use their own car, with comprehensive insurance and CTP cover. When you book, you can filter for workers who provide transport.

What about petrol or mileage costs?

Vehicle costs are usually separate from the worker's time — typically a per-kilometre charge for driving you. Your worker and our team will be clear about costs up front.

Can workers drive me longer distances?

Yes — for day trips, regional travel or longer journeys. Tell us where you need to go and we can match a worker comfortable with the trip.

What if I prefer to use public transport?

Workers can ride along with you on the bus, train or tram — pay your own fares as usual, and your worker pays theirs (often covered by their own travel arrangements).
