Who this kind of support is for
Not everyone wants the same kind of help. Some people want a worker to take a load off — others want company while they do things themselves.
People with disability
Anyone whose disability makes household tasks harder or more tiring than they need to be.
Families and carers
Families wanting trusted, consistent support for a loved one so the household keeps running smoothly.
Anyone learning skills
People building skills and independence — your worker can do tasks with you, not just for you, at the pace that suits.
How help around the home is funded under the NDIS
Where it usually sits in your plan
Most household supports sit under Core supports — Assistance with Daily Life (domestic activities).
Self-managed and plan-managed participants can use Inaro to spend NDIS funding on these supports. If you are unsure what your plan covers for domestic supports, your plan manager or support coordinator can confirm.
Inaro invoices clearly so it is easy to see where every dollar of your funding is going.
Common questions about help around the home
Can workers cook special diet meals?
Yes — let your worker know what you like and any dietary needs (allergies, religious or cultural requirements, swallowing or texture-modified diets) and they can plan and prep around it.
Do I supply the cleaning products?
Usually yes — your worker uses the products you already have, so things smell and feel like your home. Bring it up with your worker and they will work it out with you.
Can the worker also drive me to the shops?
Yes — if your worker provides transport, they can drive you to do the shopping together. See Transport for how transport costs work.
I want to do things alongside them — is that ok?
Absolutely. Many people prefer to do tasks together — the goal is whatever works best for you, not a fixed model of what support looks like.
